THINGS TO DO IN VENICE ITALY: A TEAM GAME TO DISCOVER THE HIDDEN SIDE OF THE CITY
For those who visit Venice as a group, the first question to pop into your mind must be what to prioritize, in particular if you have just a few days there. What are those places and things that we absolutely shouldn’t miss? How do I organize my day there so that it will be fun and interesting for everyone?
Actually, there are many different options!
Our goal today is to give you some alternative tips for you to get fully immersed in the city. This will make your visit fun but also rich in cultural aspects, giving both to those of you who are visiting Venice for the first time and those of you who know Venice like the back of your hand, some new and unexpected suggestions.
This is why we want to tell you about the experience that we had with a group of visitors from Treviso, giving them an alternative way to discover Venice.
This group participated in the team treasure hunt around the area of Campo Santa Maria Formosa. This is a particularly quiet area of the city, outside the crowded main tourist areas, while still being close to St. Mark Square.
The treasure hunt begins when the teams receive their set of material and tools together with the instructions: a map and a number of hints. At this point the countdown begins. The teams have to find the visual hints the participants get by drawing lots…
The rhythms of this cultural treasure hunt are both hectic and slow: the time flies but at front of every stopover the participants must stop, think, reflect, observe, touch… for every hint they receive they must answer a question or complete an activity all together as a team. Cooperation and team spirit are, together with power of deduction, the key to winning the challenge.
A treasure hunt is not only a way to build a group and get to know each other in depth, having fun and working together, but it will allow you to discover the mysteries of a hidden city – the authentic side of Venice that you did not notice or consider yet. Not every step forward is easy and it will lead you to discover the intricate bundle of alleys, bridges and magic bookshops you never imagined to find…
